8 Reasons To Forget Waiting For That Special Moment And Just Do It Now

When I was a little kid I wanted to become an artist. Give me a pencil and a piece of paper and I was happy. I would draw for hours, and I would draw anything that I saw. Well one day my mom brought home from work some giant poster sized pieces of paper.

I was so excited because it meant I could create posters myself. I decided that they were special and that they should be used for special occasions. Before I could draw on them it had to either be a special occasion, or it had to be after I was really good at drawing and could make some wonderful images.

To make a long story short that moment never came. Out of the 100 or so giant poster sized papers my mom brought home I may have used 10 at the most. The rest would sit in the spare room until they eventually made their way to the trash can.

As a kid I missed my chance. I missed my opportunity to draw some really great pictures and grow my drawing skills even more. Yet it is something that we as people continue to struggle with.

Whenever you wait for the right moment to start that business or that right time to take your adventure, you are pushing your dreams away to a later date that probably will never ever exist. Don’t wait for that special moment.

Here are 8 reasons to start your journey now, wherever it may take you.

1. Time Is Too Short

The time we have on this planet is limited. We can’t sit around and wait forever, because if we do we will eventually run all out of time. Eventually there will be no more time to do the things that you want or to take the chance that you want.

Our short lives don’t mean we have to act now or the opportunity will pass us by, but they do mean we have to act soon! If you have something you really want to do sitting on the backburner, find some time to do it, otherwise it will simply stay on the backburner until you forget about it.

2. Special Moments Don’t Just Happen They Are Made

Sure we all have those special moments in our lives that we will remember forever, but those movements become special after the fact. They become special when you remember them and remember the people you were with.

If you are always waiting around for THE special moment you will miss all the little moments in life that mean so much. There is no one moment in life where all the stars align and you just know the time is right. No, the time is right and the moment is special when you make it that way, so quit waiting and get to enjoying life already.

3. There Are Always More Opportunities In The Future

There are two ways to look at life. You can either see things as abundance or scarce. By waiting for the right time to take action you are looking at life with a scarcity mentality. You are telling the world that you only have so much paper, or so many ideas, and that you cannot use them up unless the right opportunity comes along.

Life doesn’t work that way. The universe is abundance, filled with more opportunities and more things to take advantage of those opportunities. So, you use some special paper, that doesn’t mean that you won’t have any paper to use in the future.

Take advantage of what you have now. Let it work for you and make your life a little better. Don’t worry about using up your resources because what you learn by using them is many times more valuable than what you lose. Life is about learning and in the future you can put that knowledge to work when you get the resources to do it again.

4. It Helps You To Master Your Skills

By acting now you are developing your skills for the future. By drawing on paper that you want to save for later, by by starting a business now, or by trying to learn something new you are developing your skills for the future. You are on your way to mastering your future instead waiting for the special moment to come along.

You may try something new and fail, but by doing so you will have learned a lot about what not to do and will be in a better position to try it again than someone who has just been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the right time.

It takes time to master a new skill, you have to put yourself out there if you want to succeed.

5. Life Can Get In The Way

Life is busy, things happen. As a result you can’t just wait for that special moment to take action. If it is something you really want to do you have to make time for it.

If you don’t make time for them, you will find it always gets brushed to the sidelines when your life gets busy. One of the biggest regrets people have in life is making more time for what they have to do rather than what they want to do.

6. You Only Live Once

You will never be here again. Do you really want to push back your goals and ambitions in life? Life can be full of regrets for someone who waits too long before trying something new. Don’t wait until tomorrow to do something special because tomorrow may never come.

Instead focus on today. Focus on making today special and you will live a more fulfilled life with less regrets.

7. It Leads To A More Exciting Life

Who has the more exciting life, the man who starts a business and pushes forward with it whether it succeeds or fails, or the man who waits for the right time to start a business and decides to not take action until everything is just right?

Obviously the guy who jumps right into it and takes action is not only more likely to succeed, but he is also more likely to have an exciting life. Waiting for the right time to strike can be smart, but waiting too long can mean you never do anything.

8. It Leads To A More Fulfilled Life

Expanding on my last point, life is meant to be lived. You can’t just sit around waiting the entire time because you will never accomplish anything. Before you end up looking back at your life and wishing you did more, start trying things now. Don’t wait for the time to be just right because it never will be.
